Dislocated Workers
Purpose
Coordinates the delivery of services to dislocated workers who lost jobs due to plant closures, company downsizing, or some other significant change in market conditions. In most cases, eligible workers are unlikely to return to their occupations, and they must be eligible (or have exhausted) unemployment compensation.
Eligible to Access Funding
- Regionally organized local workforce development boards
- Industry sector leaders, associations, and business organizations
- Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
- Regional consortia of community colleges
- Local economic development agencies
