California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) awarded grant funding to develop, modernize and diversify Registered Apprenticeship Programs

The Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration awarded more than $99 million in State Apprenticeship Expansion, Equity, and Innovation (SAEEI) grants. The California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) recently received $10M grant funding under the SAEEI grant, which will deliver at least 1,500 new apprentices with diversity, inclusion, and equity as a key strategy. The DAS equity goals include serving at least 60% people of color, 40% women, 10% people with disabilities, and justice-involved. DAS will partner with key apprenticeship stakeholders such as Local Workforce Development Boards, apprenticeship intermediaries, local education agencies, employer partners, and other California state agencies to achieve these goals. The complete project summary, including a full list of partners, populations served, and credentials to be awarded, can be found here.  The complete list of grantees, with links to their project descriptions, is available here.
