Apprenticeship Spring Learning Lab 2021

This virtual event is open to all community colleges, intermediaries, adult education practitioners, stakeholders, employer partners, and workforce boards. With its 39 million residents, California leads the country in active registered apprentices, and growing new programs in non-traditional industries across the state. But one of the most serious risks in the current apprenticeship environment is the focus on growing new programs without a clear path for sustaining them. Over three virtual sessions spread out across one week, the community will meet to consider three key questions: (1) what is the actual cost of operating an apprenticeship program, (2) how are apprenticeship programs funded in California, and (3) what should a future funding system look like.
